An education is something that we often take for granted in the United States. In Tanzania, it is a matter of survival for a better life. The Tanzanian government provides education only through the sixth grade. For those students who do not find assistance through the STEMM organization, the future looks bleak.
The School House Project began in the spring of 2009 to provide a stable and dependable source of funding for our educational efforts. With this project, many pictures and biographies of students came across my desk. They really touched my heart.
"My father wanted to arrange a marriage for me; he could not afford school fees."
"Both of my parents died; I take care of my 7 siblings."
"My parents are jobless; we often suffer hunger and famine."
"I have lost hope; my parents died and I live with my old grandmother."
These are not just a few students that have these life challenges. The nation of Tanzania is at risk because of the AIDS epidemic and poverty level. If you can imagine, the gift of education comes at a crucial moment that will allow STEMM to impact students with life change. For as little as $25 a month, you can partner up with a student and help break the cycle of poverty. By joining the School House Project, you help open the door. Just look at what happens...
"STEMM offered me an opportunity to excel in my life!"
"I am so determined to work hard to one day become a nurse."
"You (STEMM) saved my future.
"This is my chance; you do not know the joy I have in my heart."
"I dream to one day become a teacher, educate my family and help my nation."
A student's life suddently has hope. A girls dream is turned into a reality. These students need your assistance to make their futures bright and productive. We invite you to join us in this opportunity through the School House Project. Since April, many individuals partnered with us and said, "Count me in!" One by one, student by student, intentionally and deliberately, we hope to throw the doors wide open. Come join us!
